Organisational Grant Application FAQs
What do you fund?
We fund work which supports the over 55s residing in the Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area.
Work must address one or more of our core objectives to:
- Reduce isolation/social exclusion, improving wellbeing.
- Support ageing well and address age-related decline.
- Provide financial planning or employability support.
Does my application have to meet all 3 objectives?
No, your application only needs to address a minimum of one of our objectives. If your work addresses more than one please tick all relevant.
How much can I apply for?
Trustees normally award grants for between £1,000 - £5,000 for any 12 month period.
They may consider larger grants of up to £10,000. Please contact us before applying if you require a grant above £5,000.
Do we have to be a registered charity to apply?
You do not have to be a registered charity we will also support other types of not for profit organisations including CICs.
Can we discuss an application before applying?
Yes, please email or use the contact form on the website to arrange a time to discuss.
Please note that we are a small team who work part time.
What attachments will we need to send?
We'll need to see your safeguarding policy and latest set of annual accounts
Do you cover staff costs?
Yes, we will cover staff time costs for their work which supports the 55s.
Do you have application deadlines?
Yes, our trustees meet 4 times a year in January, April, July and October.
The deadlines for 2025 applications for consideration at the meetings are:
16 June for July decision
29 September for October decision
22 December for January 2026 decision

Can I see the application form before applying?

Do the questions have word or character limits?
No. We don't use word or charater limits. We sometimes provide a suggested word limit to help you know how much detail we're looking for. Please don't spend time cutting down answers to fit these suggestions.
How quickly will I hear?
You will be notified of the Trustees decision the same month as the board meets.
Will I know if I’m unsuccessful?
We will let you know if you have been unsuccessful. Unfortunatly we are unable to provide individual feedback.
How quickly will I receive an awarded grant?
We require you to complete a grant award conditions form. Once a signed copy has been recieved by us you will recieve your grant within 2 weeks.
How do I report and what are the reporting deadlines?
Your grant award letter will explain the grant reporting that we will require. The reporting will be proportional to the grant awarded.
What recognition of Anchor do I need to give?
We require you to acknowledge our grant to you on your website, annual report and promotional material directly connected to the work. Please contact us if you need our logo.
